Aims and Objectives
The aim of this
project is the development of a new, dynamic, digital appraisal tool
for the collection and presentation of portfolio evidence of a
educator’s competencies, which can be used in the various educational
and appraisal systems throughout the European Union. The project
intends to address the self-improvement/self-evaluation of educators
(such as teachers, educational administrators, inspectors, teacher
trainers and trainees) and their objective and transparent evaluation
with the help of new technologies.
The main
activities will be the:

Analysis of the existing appraisal
systems in particular in the countries of the project partners

Analysis of tools used for the
evaluation of educators in particular Portfolios and Digital
Portfolios of achievements/competencies with emphasis in the
countries of the project partners |

Creation
and implementation of a draft Digital Portfolio of
achievements/competencies |

Implementation Evaluation and
finalization of the Digital Portfolio tool |

Dissemination of the Digital
Portfolio and evaluation of the project |
Main outcomes are:

The development of an European
Digital Portfolio in which personal documents of different types
(texts, films/videos, tapes) can be stored and presented in a
purposeful order.

The development of a training course
on how to use the European Digital Portfolio.
This project intends to help enhance
the quality of portfolio assessment and by increasing its appeal and
credibility increase its use through the EU so enabling greater
mobility of recognised professional teachers while at the same time it
will enhance the self-awareness and professional development of
educators.
The project will contribute to the
implementation of the treaty of Lisbon (2000), article 26, last
paragraph. |
